Surreal Solar began with a simple idea: create an outdoor chandelier that could hang effortlessly from the branches of a tree.
After searching for one and discovering it didn't exist, I decided to build it myself. What started as a single prototype quickly became an obsession with combining timeless design, handcrafted craftsmanship, and modern solar technology.
Every Surreal Solar chandelier is individually handcrafted in Minnesota using weather-resistant materials and carefully selected components. The goal has always been simple: create outdoor lighting that transforms ordinary spaces into unforgettable places.

Hi, I'm Holden Tranquillo, founder of Surreal Solar.
I started this company because I wanted something I couldn't find anywhere else—a truly elegant outdoor chandelier that didn't require wiring or electricity. What began as a personal project quickly grew into a passion for designing lighting that brings warmth and character to outdoor spaces.
With a background in engineering, I approach each chandelier as both a design piece and a functional object. Every chandelier is handcrafted by me in Minnesota. From designing and fabricating the frame to carefully placing each light, I build every piece with the same attention to detail I'd expect if it were hanging in my own backyard.
My hope is simple: that every chandelier becomes part of your favorite evenings—family dinners on the patio, conversations around a fire pit, celebrations with friends, or quiet nights under the stars.
